Back in 1880, before there were any churches in the area, Rev. Rawson of Beulah conducted services in peoples¹ homes. His successor, Rev. Long, used the Carlingville School for services.
The first church served a community of Methodists, Presbyterians and Anglicans. By 1903 Presbyterians and Methodists were having regular weekly services here. When the United Church of Canada came into being in 1925 the Presbyterian and Methodist bodies automatically went into union and it became the United Church.
In 1999, since both the urban and rural communities had been decreasing drastically over the previous three decades, it was decided to close the church to regular services.
A cairn commemorating the church¹s 100 years of continuous service to the community was erected in 2000.
