Glass, east of Winnipeg, is in Springfield, the first Rural Municipality in Manitoba. The settlement was originally known as Edgewood because the poplar bush began there, but was renamed for C. K. Glass, a superintendent of the Canadian Northern Railway.
The church was built with permission from Father Pierre Gagne of St. Rita. The half acre of land was purchased from Carl Cook by Omar Ballegeer, and the foundation was laid by Dennis Hadaller. Donations received from the Knights of Columbus and the Bishop of St. Boniface amounted to $3,000. Eleven families attended the opening, and in the late 1970s the congregation from 24 families numbered 94.
However, by 1990 the church was closed and the property had been sold. The church no longer exists.
