Dawson City, Northwest Territories. St. Paul. Anglican. 1902

Dawson City is 328 miles (525 km) north of Whitehorse on the North Klondike Highway. St. Paul’s is the third church on or near the present site. Built in 1902 for $15,000, four-fifths of which came directly from the gold miners, the church contains a number of interesting historic memorials. For many years, and until the capital of the Territory was moved to Whitehorse in 1953, it served as the Cathedral of the diocese  Consequently, it is often referred to as the Pro-Cathedral.
