Clearwater, Manitoba. St. Paul. Anglican. 1889

St. Paul’s Anglican Church is a wood-framed building whose interior has been left intentionally untouched by decoration or refinishing over the years.

The Hamlet of Clearwater, established in 1876, was once geographically in the Northwest Territories, since the official boundary of Manitoba was the 99th meridian (one mile east of the hamlet). When the boundary was extended to its present position in 1877 Clearwater became part of Manitoba.

Clearwater has claim to two pioneer churches. Knox United Church, built in 1893, is just a few steps away from St. Paul’s.
