Originally known as Knox Presbyterian, the church was renamed in 1935 with the merging of the congregations of Knox Presbyterian and Grace Methodist.
The church is of the Romanesque Revival style, built on a stone foundation. It was designed by architect H. S. Griffith who also designed St. Mary’s la Prairie Anglican Church in Portage la Prairie in 1898.
